Joy's love of recording as an outreach tool began at age 8 when she and her parents recorded an album project and donated all proceeds to an evangelistic effort. Since that time, Joy has worked as a session singer in Atlanta, having recorded many, many songs as works for hire. At the urging of some musician friends, Joy released a collection of hymns for her local church in 2007 and followed it up with a Christmas release later that same year. In 2011, Joy's longtime buddy, Jayson Chance, encouraged her to record a project that was truly reflective of her style and journey that would be a vehicle for her to share her testimony of God's love.
