A little about us...

We are the Fowler family: Chris, Joy, Alex, Hope, son-in-law, Jeff, and granddaughter Romy! 🎀  Chris and Joy have been music professionals who have made our living teaching and performing music in metro-Atlanta for over 40 years. We moved to Jesup, Georgia in 2021 to retire near the coast and be available to help care for Joy's elderly parents (who retired and came back home to Jesup in 2022 after having moved to Atlanta in the 1960's).

🔸 Joy is a recording artist, worship leader, author, and music teacher who holds records within Georgia High School Association (GHSA) for her work with girls trios. She has written and produced and/or directed well over a hundred large-scale productions of various kinds. She has recorded three solo albums and

hundreds of appearances singing and arranging vocals for other artists, has toured the country leading worship with a variety of ministry teams and has had the opportunity to speak, sing, and teach at worship conferences across the globe. Her most rewarding gigs are getting to sing and lead worship with her family.

🔸 Chris retired from public education after 39 years, having served as the high school choral director and fine arts coordinator in the Buford City School system from 1992 to 2021. Chris holds a doctorate in music education from the University of Georgia and teaches online for Liberty University's School of Music. Dr. Fowler is an in-demand pianist, having accompanied the Georgia All State Chorus 26 years and was named Music Educator of the Year in 2022 for the Southeastern United States by the National Federation of High School Associations.

🔸 Their two children, Alex and Hope, are both immensely talented working adult musicians; both graduates of Buford High School and state champions in GHSA Literary events and One Act Play, as well as members of Georgia's All State Choruses.

🔸 Alex graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Reinhardt University in 2020 and is on staff with The Church of Eleven22, where he serves as a worship ministry resident at the Jesup Campus. He leads the E22 Students worship team, helps lead the Wayne Christian Academy chapel band, and teaches voice and guitar privately. Alex made his way into the hearts of Wayne County residents appearing as "Tom Jones" in the revival of the Wayne County Productions showcase in October 2025. An avid golfer and part-time barista, Alex is currently pursuing a masters degree in worship studies from Liberty University and loves sharing the Gospel and mentoring students.

🔸 Hope is a Dean's List student at the University of Georgia completing a degree in Vocal Performance while maintaining an active performing schedule. An accomplished triple threat, Hope lettered in five areas in high school, including chorus, theatre, dance, athletics (dance team), and academics. She received a Best Leading Actress nomination from the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards (i.e., "the Shuler Awards"). Also in high school, Hope was a member of the Georgia Governor's Honors Program as a vocal major and has worked for GHP since graduation. She is a member of the Hugh Hodgson Singers at UGA and studies privately with Dr. Gregory Broughton. Her favorite title is Mommy to sweet baby Romy, who will be a year old in September 2026.

🔸 In 2023, Hope married Jeff Unger, a 2018 graduate of Camden County High School and Reinhardt University (2021). Jeff is completing a masters degree in choral conducting at Georgia State University and just finished his second year teaching chorus and musical theatre at Discovery High School in Gwinnett County. On top of being the best daddy to baby Romy, Jeff is an active performer, is the worship pastor at The Bridge Community Church in Athens, and teaches voice and guitar through the community school at UGA.

🔸🔶🔸
Together, we are delighted to launch "Camp J.A.M." with Jesup Academy of Music and bring this summer camp to our neighbors. Our greatest desire is to bring glory to God and make Christ known. Specifically through this camp, we want to help the young people of Southeastern Georgia have a creative outlet to discover and develop their God-given gifts. The instructors we bring in to teach alongside us at this camp are thoroughly vetted and excellent in their field. Our vision is to help young artists deepen their passion and inspire them to pursue excellence in the Arts.

Thank you for entrusting your student to us. We are looking forward to a summer of fun!
